Teen Gil Charged with Sydney Stabbing Murder

Teen girl 'happy' with murder charge

Apprentice chef Patrick Crowe

A TEENAGE girl who allegedly verbally abused and threatened apprentice chef Patrick Crowe just before he was stabbed to death appeared "strangely happy" today after being charged in relation to his murder.
The 15-year-old, who can't be named, yesterday became the fifth person arrested in relation to the stabbing murder of Mr Crowe, who died in hospital after he was attacked on a Parramatta street early last month.
The 22-year-old apprentice chef from Windsor was attacked near the Argyle St bus interchange following a night out with friends after his group exchanged verbal taunts with three girls.
Police allege the girls called a group of males to the area and they then attacked Mr Crowe and his friends.
The teenage girl, from Greystanes in Sydney's west, who was allegedly one of the female gang, was charged with being a principle in the second degree to the murder, affray and concealing the crime.
She appeared in Parramatta Children's Court this morning on a video link and smiled to the courtroom as she heard she would be staying behind bars for now.
Magistrate Anthony Spence noted the seriousness of the charges after the girl's lawyer said his client wasn't applying for bail and asked for her to return to the court on Thursday.
"You need to remain in custody for now until next Thursday, at least," he told the girl.
"Ok, thank you," the 15-year-old replied.
"She seems strangely happy about the whole process," Mr Spence said after the girl had gone off the screen.
Her mother and sister arrived at the court just after the girl's brief appearance, but they left without speaking to media.
Police earlier said several items had been seized from the girl's home and the property would be subject to forensic examination.
Christopher Brilliantes, 21, from Wentworthville, has been charged with stabbing Mr Crowe to death. He remains in custody and is next due to appear in Parramatta Local Court on September 13.
