Two teen girls charged after allegedly stabbing each other in tussle at shopping centre

TWO teenage girls have been charged over Thursday night's knife fight at Robina Town Centre.

The girls, both 16, were charged on Friday after allegedly stabbing each other in front of shocked shoppers in what was believed to have been a dispute over a boy.
One has been charged with one count each of wounding and going armed to cause fear.
The second girl has been charged with one count each of wounding, possession of a knife in a public place and obstruct police.
Both teenagers, who were treated in Gold Coast Hospital for non life-threatening knife wounds, are expected to face Southport Children's Court next week.
Earlier, it was reported that shoppers watched in shock and horror as both girls were stabbed - one in the thigh and the other in the stomach - on the busy shopping centre's second level above the Food Court.
Both girls were taken by ambulance to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The stabbing followed a dramatic bikie shooting at Robina Town Centre in late April.
Senior Bandidos bikie Jacques Teamo and a female shopper were shot in an alleged confrontation with a Finks bikie gang member from Melbourne.
He has been charged with attempted murder and is before the courts.
