A US mother accused of having sex with her son tracked him down on Facebook.
Mistie Atkinson, 32, had no contact with her teenage son until she began to send him messages on the social networking site last year, the New York Daily News reports.
"It appears she hadn't had any contact with the son for 15 years, and now he's 16," a police source told the newspaper.
"She contacted him late last year via Facebook and was sending him messages inappropriately," the source said.
Police in California arrested Atkinson in March after they searched a hotel room and found her and her son together.
She has been charged with incest, oral copulation with a minor and contacting a minor for sex using electronic communication.
She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Police allege Atkinson sent her son naked photos of herself.
Videos found on the boy's phone found also showed Ms Atkinson performing oral sex and having sexual intercourse with the teenager.
"Atkinson and the victim are aware they are biological mother and son," police said in a court affidavit.
